If you didn’t expect any glitches at all with an operation
that had only been going for a couple of months before
you signed up and arent actually capable of telling them
that you havent heard from them apart from the initial email...

Yeah, they have fuckwit incompetents in
a call center in India instead. And supply
steaming turds of modems that can't even
deliver anything even remotely like the
100/40 service you are paying for over wifi.

Hardly surprising given that they have been
doing it for more than a decade now.

I don't see how that's relevant as they have been operating OS for much
longer, and would have their systems in operation already

I have. they never got back to me

They couldn’t with the interaction with NBNco alone, precisely
what you are whining about, getting a notification when NBNco
has done what needed to be done to provide you with a service.

For all you know, the problem could well be that NBNco
didn’t even bother to tell them when you service with
MR had been provisioned, so MR couldn’t tell you that.

And they are completely fucking hopeless at allowing
your home phone number to be ported to a new RSP,
and utterly notorious in the industry for that.

Be interesting to see what happens with the MR router.

you have said previously that the problem is due to the way that TPG
does things, and that MR does it differently, so I'm counting on the MR
modem being much better, and eliminating the problem, so I can use the
LAN connection and get constant speed. btw.. the distance of the tv from
the modem is a good 30 metres. that would not be something causing an
issue would it?

I said nothing of the sort with the problem you are seeing.

It is for most of us, but not for everyone.

> and eliminating the problem,

Remains to be seen where the problem is. If the problem is
the TV, it may not make any difference at all. I suggested you
TRY the MR modem given that its available to be tried and it
is known to perform MUCH better than the Netcomm WITH
WIFI and you said that one of the problems was with wifi.

> so I can use the LAN connection and get constant speed.

I never said anything about the MR modem doing LAN better.

> btw.. the distance of the tv from the modem is a good 30 metres. that

Nar, that’s fine with a decent CAT5 or CAT5 cable and from
memory you did say that you had tried a different one.

If you havent, worth trying a different one or the MR modem
and use wifi. BUT you appear to have severe wifi congestion
given that the Netcomm cant even deliver a decent speed
on wifi and you have never said if the TV can do 5GHz wifi.

I seem to remember that the wi fi is 30 metres away, maybe need repeater?

I thought you had said it was something to do with the way the TPG DHCP
server allocates addresses, or something like that, and MR does it
differently, and that would remedy the connection/disconnection problem
I have with the LAN

it certainly seems much better just on the interface alone. besides,
it's bigger so it must be better :)

I will if I can ever get the idiots to connect it

I thought you did

yes

it gets up to 22mbps, the same as the LAN speed, but it also goes as low
as 1-2 mbps, and that's the problem. if it would just stay around 20mbps
there wouldn't be a problem.

> and you have never said if the TV can do 5GHz wifi.

I don't know if it can. I shall endeavour to find out
