Were I to ever setup a dual boot machine one one drive...I'd be sure to 
have all data backed up...including Firefox and Thunderbird profiles.


Then carefully think about what I'm doing.

Then think again.


The advice given (elsewhere) to use the tools provided with the OS you 
are working with...is a good one.

I once used Gparted (from Linux) to delete an extended Windows partition 
and it took out the entire container!


Though that was a dumb mistake, at least I realized it at once and used 
data recovery software to reverse the change! Lesson learned.
