I was going to tell you just that. Not all Linux filesystems allow
reducing the size. Most if not all only allow increasing the size, and
easily.

Yours being a fresh install it is just easier to start again.

Win 10 is not that bad. You can disable most things that hinder privacy,
if you wish.

Typically, it is easier to install Windows, then Linux. If you do the
other way, make sure to leave free partitions for Windows. W10 should
need two. I'm unsure it will work.
