Given those requirements, I can't recommend one for you, but I can steer you AWAY from anything bearing the "TrendNet" name. They're not just "not-so-friendly" to Mac - I teeter on a razor edge on whether I should just come right out and bluntly call them actively Mac-hostile. With some code I've been hacking on, TrendNet cameras *CAN* be used with a Mac, but "out of the box", forget it - If you're able to eyeball a still image in their provided web interface from a Mac, you're doing good. It's not impossible, but it isn't anywhere near as simple as it should be. As far as controlling the camera from a Mac, or looking at a live stream, you can just plain forget those concepts entirely - They supposedly provide a Java-based method for doing so, (with an ActiveX version for Windows folk) but there's a catch - namely, that they didn't bother to actually install the Java app into the on-board web server - Thus, the best result you'll get when you try to use it is either a timeout or a "404 - Not Found". Their customer service (so-called...) isn't even slightly interested in assisting Mac folks - "You should use a Windows computer - We don't like Macs around here" is a direct quote from one of their CS people to me when I finally managed to actually get a human on the line a few months back. A feat that required several days of try and retry. Needless to say, I won't recommend them to anybody, but most especially not a Mac user. -- Security provided by Mssrs Smith and/or Wesson.
