I liked Gnome 2. Gnome 3 is an abomination, and if Gnome Classic
disappears I'll probably be off to Xfce-land.

One of the more bizarre things I read on one of the Gnome lists was that
transparency was likely to be removed from Gnome Terminal because (iirc)
something in a new library would break it, and the devs couldn't find a
way of making it work again. Gnome's in danger of going backwards.

And Xfce does transparency nicely. :-)
