You just solved a mystery in my life :-).  I had a similar problem when
I lived in Mass. when town maintenance took over the fire station across
the street from my house.  Thanks.

I didn't have the energy for that.  When I was done cooking, I unplugged
the stove.

That's a problem.  There won't be backups available for comm whenever
the power grid goes down.

Well, I heard a news item on the radio about Xmas outdoor decorations
emitting laser light which affected pilots...some kind of light show
IIRC the news item correctly.
