Python can also do that.  Or, if the performance of Python is
insufficient for the task at hand, they will reach for C, C++, or
Fortran.

Why not Forth?  Python has features for interfacing with C and
ABI-compatible languages, but not for interfacing with Forth.  Why
not?  Are there any Forth libraries that are worth interfacing to?
