In what way I am wrong?
You basically claim that allocating new block then releasing old one when
performing update, have same performance as updating in place?
It is *well known* fact that copy on write file systems have bad
performance regarding VM images and databases. I haven't learned that by
myself. I can't see how 'professional' benchmark can show otherwise...
