"Nomenclature" is considered technical, but still in active use.
"Exposition" is pretty common, though it's mostly used in the sense of
(dialogue the author is consciously using to establish information
about the background of their story;) the sense of (a methodical
presentation of a subject in all its aspects) is, AFAIK, mainly used in
a theological context these days.
