I have Yosemite on a 2009 MBP, a 2009 mini, a 2009 iMac, a 2012 mini, a 2012 iMac, a 2015 mini, a 2015 MBP and a 2015 MB1. It is not slow on any of them, and Window Server does not take up a whole CPU on any of the machines.
