Der Wüstensand ist zu rund für die Verwendung im Beton. Aber: wie sind die Sandkörner so rund geworden? Ein Standkorn ist im Prinzip ein ganz kleiner Stein, welcher mal zu einem größeren Stein gehört hat und dieser mal zu einem Felsen. Irgendwas hat den Felsen zu Steinen zermalen und diese zu Sandkörner und die dann auch noch rund geschliffen. Was ganz bestimmt nicht die Ursache war, das war die Luft bzw. der Wind. Viel einleuchtender ist Erosion mit Hilfe von Wasser. Wasser trägt im Laufe der Zeit durchaus beträchtliche Felsbrocken ab und kann die auch zu kleinen Steinchen zermalen und diese bei Bedarf auch noch rund schleifen. Die kleinen Stücke werden dann z.B. von den Flüssen fortgetragen und ins Meer gespült und bleiben dort dann irgendwo am Meeresgrund liegen. Ein starker Wind kann vielleicht die Oberfläche eines Felsens abtragen. Aber die Stücke dürften eher die Größe von Staubkörnern haben. Und wenn die Stücke dann irgendwo liegen geblieben sind, dann sind sie dem Wind auch kaum noch ausgesetzt. Es gibt zwar Dünen. Aber die bestehen ja schon aus Sand. Also ist der Sand nicht durch Dünen entstanden, sondern anders. Aber, wenn du mir nicht glaubst, dann schaue dir doch auf Google-Earth oder ähnlichem mal ein paar kürzlich ausgetrocknete Gewässer an (etwa den Aral-See). Der Boden des ehemaligen Sees besteht aus Sand. Der ist dort wohl auch schon gewesen, als der Aral-See noch sehr viel größer war. Die jetzige Sandwüste ist demnach der Boden des ehemaligen Sees. Diese Erkenntnis kann man dann analog auf andere Sandwüsten übertragen, etwa die Atacama-Wüste oder die Wüste Gobi. Aber auch Wadi Rum ginge als Beispiel. Der Wadi sieht doch recht eindeutig so aus wie ein ausgetrockneter Fluss. Nun kann man diese Erkenntnis etwas extrapolieren und die Sahara als Boden eines bereits vor langer Zeit ausgetrockneten Meeres ansehen. Das Meer ist dabei ausgetrocknet, weil der Meeresspiegel im Laufe einer sehr langen Zeit deutlich gesunken ist, bzw das Land sich in Relation zum Meeresspiegel gehoben hat. Der Hafen hatte sicherlich die Funktion, dass dort Schiffen einlaufen und am Kai festmachen konnten. Aus der entsprechenden ehemaligen Wasserlinie an den noch heute vorhandenen Kais kann man auf den Wasserstand im Hafen und damit auf den Meeresspiegel des Mittelmeeres schließen. Aber heute liegt dort, wo im alten Rom noch die Schiffe entlang gesegelt sind, der Flughafen Fiomicino. Troja war wahrscheinlich eine Hafenstand am Eingang zu den Dardanellen. Das wäre eine recht plausible Erklärung für die Lage der Stadt. Ein Hafen besteht nun hauptsächlich aus Kaianlagen. Diese sind eigentlich Mauern, die die Erbauer ins Meer hinein gebaut habe. Verschwindet das Meer, dann bleiben die Mauern natürlich da. Das wäre eine unsinnige Vermutung, weil die Einfahrt in die Dardanellen sicherlich etwas war, das die damaligen Machthaber kontrollieren wollten, etwa um Zölle zu erheben (o.ä.). Dazu müßte die Stadt aber militärisch befestigt gewesen sein und über einen Hafen verfügt haben, wo die Soldaten im Zweifel auch hingekommen sind. Das ginge nur, wenn die Stadt direkt am Meer gelegen hat und direkt neben dem Hafen. ... TH
