Yes, that's what I meant.

Do they check everyone on the light rail train ?

Presumably I didn't use it enough to see any of those.

Was the conductor who I did see do something with a
few passengers instead of actually selling them a ticket
checking if they had tapped on at the light rail stop
or were those people actually tapping on with his
handheld device because they hadn't done that at
the post at the stop ?  I cant remember whether he
approached them or they approached him.

OK, I didn't use any of the smaller train stations, just Central
and the two airport stations. Didn't use any buses or ferries
either. I assumed from the online description that the bus
driver would notice if you didn't bother to tap on when
getting on the bus but didn't check if the bus bigger bus
stops had tap on and off posts like the light rail stops do.
