Might well be very different now with Uber tho, must try that next time. > The $11 is only paid going in to Airport not coming out. Yeah, meant to check that, thanks for that. I mostly used taxis in the past because work was paying. When I was paying I did sometimes use the airline bus from the city to the airport. Pretty clapped out buses tho and nothing like as fast as the train and that was in the days before the massive traffic congestion. The taxi from the Cross was fine, but that was around lunchtime. >>> Looked around Central Station the Number 1 platform >>> waiting room no longer has a phone recharge >> I meant just a power point I can plug my own charger into. I did use the one in the Platform 1 waiting room more than once, didn't think to check for a power point at the time. Bet there is at least a power point in there intended for shavers. Not ideal to camp out in the dunny waiting for the phone to charge but quite a bit more convenient than the walk up to the TAFE. > Companies are usually worried about litigation, I, we, were restoring > a old distillation plant in winter, bought a $8 fan heater, but had to > have a company electrician check it and tag it as safe, (cost me > nothing but time, which they pay for) All electrical gadgets, fridge > TV computers had to be checked every 12 months. I will ask, WHY? It looked like they are just locked boxes that some ape shows up at, takes the phones away and charges them somewhere else and brings them back. Not free either. That was the other reason I didn't want to use it, I needed the phone for the most basic getting around and doing stuff like finding a backpackers I could dump my bag at instead of carting it around all day. There is a baggage place at the same end of the grand concourse as Platform 1, in that corner, but it wasn't that cheap at all. Since I needed to get the backpackers reserved anyway, it was just as easy to dump the bag there and then walk over to the PowerHouse Museum. >>> Always seems full? >>> Battery backups for Mobiles seem suspiciously cheap? >>> http://bit.ly/1U3ZACP >> Yeah, the youngest turk has just got this one. >> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251948928011?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT >> It showed up last Thursday and he headed off to Sydney >> on the Xplorer service on Sunday to stay with his sister. >> He just asked me on facebook about child seats in single >> cab bench seat utes and didn't say anything about it and >> I didn't think to ask him how it was going. >> I likely will get one of those or something similar so >> I can have the iphone powered for the garage sale >> run and can use full time Siri to make voice calls with >> the phone and battery backup in my pocket with a >> bluetooth neckband headset so I use the same thing >> whether I am in the car or inside the garage sale. >> And can obviously use it in the train or when around Sydney. >> I must get off my arse and do the paperwork get >> the pension card so I get the 4 free trips every year. >> The kids have just moved into the place they rented, >> older house in Parramatta. Yeah, the light rail was when I used it thru the arvo. Went right out to the end of the line and back. I thought those were a lefty wank but that one does work very well indeed. Rather more comfortable to use than busses too. Fucking expensive to build tho with the latest ones like in Canberra. > Have to wonder if the guard can get police to enter carriages from > watching the CCTV's, they are all through and outside of the train. > The silly arse had work boots on the seat in front of him, the cops > came straight into "my" carriage no looking at anyone else and booked > him $100. Yeah, didn't notice any damage at all inside any of the trains I used. Hell of a lot of graffiti on the walls of propertys on the rail lines tho.
