Currently the tuners use the car connection to do their deed. There have been articles that talk about how your car can be hacked via wifi if the car is equipped, so I suppose it isn't beyond the realm of possibility. But the tuners aren't for all cars. If you don't have a turbo then the tuners really can't improve things much and most of them don't list non- turbo cars as ones being supported. They essentially do what a dyno- tuning shop would do though instead of making it specific to your car, they have some canned ones that do somewhat less. -- Lloyd
