Ah, I did wonder if that was what was happening.  

I've finally got round to read the relevant parts of the Easiwriter guide
for v8.60 which seems to deal with PDF generation.  What appears to be
vital is to have Ghostscript installed and 'seen' by the system.  That and
the availability of a PostScript driver.  I assume you have this Easiwriter
guide available?  It doesn't seem directly available on MW's site but if
you haven't got it I'm sure he wouldn't mind me emailing it to you.
