They're living in the past.  They should at least have the OS on a small SSD.  I used to build custom computers and the default was an SSD for the OS and major applications, and a hard disk for large data.

They are not a choice of many.  They are a single choice for making a mac.  I consider that unwise.  It's a monopoly.

It's their crazy form over function designs.  Makes it harder to change things that don't quite fit.  Still, a hacksaw can help.
