Web browsing - yep. That's typically what causes people I know to finally
upgrade their machines after holding out for years. So they inevitably end
up upgrading and learning the ins and outs of newer software just so they
can keep up with the web. : )

I sold my two G5 towers back in 2008 on eBay for $1200 and $990. That
offset the cost of my 2008 Mac Pro which is still a speedy beast as my
daily workstation. There are certain things I can't do with this machine
already because of the age of the hardware - like certain Continuity
features and so on. I can live with that for now though. I estimate I'll
get a few more years out of it before I sell it and replace it with
something newer and faster (and more capable).
