Irrelevant.  Good UI is like good code.  Clear and readable.

Of course it does.  If a box is there and it isn't clear that it's for 
IMAP or SMTP then it is confusing.

Main dialog, accounts box has
	-Account Information (1)
		|
		+-Outgoing
			|
			+-----Advanced (SMTP) (2)
	-Advanced (IMAP) (3)

That's 3 at low level  and several navigation steps to find them.

It's not bad UI - it's HORRIBLE UI.
