On Linux/Unix machines there is a control flag that tells the network stack to send a packet immediately when you are using a protocol based on very small messages (i.e. telnet). Is there an equivalent for this in the Uthernet universe? You could be seeing the effects of the GS stack delaying transmission of echoed characters.
