This is sadly no longer the case. =( Of course, there are still good people, but I know them since I teach them and meet them every other day. When I had a consulting gig, building up a support department at a cloud provider, I had the chance to hire 6 of my old students. They performed very well, and by now they are all having above industry average salaries, with only a vocational degree. It is a nice feeling that I was able to give them a good start with their IT careers.
