And the whole thing had never been tested, obviously. Physically "been there - done that". The towers do NOT last very long in a major disaster. Batts go dead FAST. Generators need fuel. Expect MAYBE 48 hours - then it's back to the 60s. The old land-lines MAY still work. The broader the disaster the worse/longer it is. "Recovery" comes in from the edges by and large. Was IN one of those major disasters ... it was back to cooking stuff - some hunted - over open wood fires. Boiling water. No comms. Gun at your side. Don't get hurt or .... And that's the USA. Elsewhere - wow ! Yep THAT bad THAT quickly. Our "civilization" is mostly an illusion. Things built on things built on things. But any gap and .......
