Maybe.  Do you not think that there is a difference between
superficial "readability" and maintainability?  I think that
state-smart words can score well on the former, but not the latter.
You look at the code and think you know what it's doing but are
misled.

That perhaps depends on who "you" is: the person writing this stuff,
or the maintenance programmer ten years later.
