That's what I do for most of my customers, and it serves them well. 
Note that many of the BBS's also store avatars in the database as well. 
  They can't all be wrong!

Probably the most correct definition (and also the most confusing) is 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metadata.  In the case of images, it can 
contain things like the image type (.jpg, .gif, etc.), the size of the 
images, etc.  For photographs it often contains the date/time of the 
photo was taken, etc.  Basically anything related to the image can be 
considered metadata, and it means different things to different people.

Not with a good database it won't.  Database size should have nothing to 
do with how long it takes to connect.

And Axel has never worked in the real world, nor has he ever worked with 
a real database such as Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server.  His ONLY experience 
is in a lab on a toy database (and only a little of that), yet he thinks 
he knows more about databases than anyone else in the world.

Experienced DBAs laugh at his posts.  I don't know of another company 
who would hire him - but I know of several who wouldn't even grant him 
an interview.  I hope he never loses this job - he'll never find another.
