Honestly, I didn't research copyrighted material interlingual transfer
thoroughly, but what I've observed made me to come to conclusion that in
USSR copyrighted material had been used to produce something.  That
something beared some resemblance to source but exact translation had
never been the point -- like droping characters, goals moved between
characters, and such.  My favored example, in USSR-based mindset Baghira
(of The Jungle Book) is female.  I've come to conclusion, that a reason
for this was royalty optimization.
