Three cheers for text file configs.  I'm realizing one of my errors was a
permissions error on the NAS - so that one's user error.  I'm half annoyed,
half chagrined.

This stuff isn't easy, even for the experienced, or the over-confident
amateur. You can almost see the allure of 'cloud only' - it's someone else's
problem now, and your problem becomes one of paying monthly.  I prefer
reducing monthly recurring bills, and keeping all my stuff at home,
especially because the generous storage on my NAS allows me to keep just
about everything I want/need.  Not a digital hoarder, but I like hanging
onto stuff I'm not sure will be around the next time I search for it.
