I'd really like a good caching proxy again. I wrote one close to two decades ago, which was slow but workable for HTTP. It has not adjusted well to HTTPS and ajax and streaming. I tried to hack the Python mitmproxy for that purpose, but I'm not great with Python and found video components particularly difficult to deal with. Today, I don't try too hard, but I also don't watch video in the browser, preferring to download with youtube-dl and then watch (and decide what to keep or discard after that). Elijah ------ mplayer is video watching tool of choice
