Many USB hubs are sold to be as cheaop as possible, and are shit. Anker
hubs are reasonably cheap, but have been excellent in terms of quality
(as all the Anker stuff has been). So it is quite possible to have a USB
hub that doesn't work well with some devices.

Depends. I would not do clones on a daily basis.

Well, i don't do clones on a daily basis.

Generally, I make a clone of a drive when I am going to make a major
change. Otherwise I have other better backups.
