Meh. Personally, I'd just leave the Time Machine drive connected all the time. Time Machine will happily back up to it hourly during the day, saving all revisions of files that change along the way. If the drive is dedicated to only backups and you don't mess with it at all in your daily work (which is how I recommend you treat all backup drives), then I wouldn't worry too much about the drive experiencing corruption simply due to being connected. You can, of course, disconnect and remove a Time Machine backup drive, and Time Machine will keep track of changes that you make in the mean time, and automatically back those changes up the next time you connect it again. But the big drawback is if your hard drive dies or some other problem happens before you connect the drive again, those changes may be lost. And since you have already said you have a second SuperDuper backup, leaving the Time Machine drive connected all the time is a no-brainer, IMHO. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter.
