Maybe it was because the > hub I used years ago was an older one that wasn't powered. Many USB hubs are sold to be as cheaop as possible, and are shit. Anker hubs are reasonably cheap, but have been excellent in terms of quality (as all the Anker stuff has been). So it is quite possible to have a USB hub that doesn't work well with some devices. >> it's best to *not* have backup drives always connected in case >> something goes wrong. > I guess in that case I'd have to plug the drives in every night before > going to bed (so the back-ups could run still automatcially every > night) and then every morning ejecting the drives' icons in case > something goes wrong during the days. Depends. I would not do clones on a daily basis. Well, i don't do clones on a daily basis. Generally, I make a clone of a drive when I am going to make a major change. Otherwise I have other better backups. -- If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled?
