Not once. Neither did we, until we went to fiber. Recently we had a day-long scheduled power outage so Hydro could upgrade the lines. I was going to dig out my old line-powered phone and make regular checks on the phone line, but I got busy with other things and forgot until about four hours into the outage. At that time I plugged the phone in and tried it. No dial tone.
