So you've apparently forgotten how easy it is to do something like.... Aha... machine XYZ, which we installed a unique ID cookie on last week when they visited feefiefoe.com has just landed on this other website, Englishgiant.org. We do analysis on that one, too, so we know it's the same machine because we queried the cookies it has, and guess what came back? Yep, The ID that was set by site feefiefoe.com. Oh, and look... They used a credit card to order a copy of "How to avoid NSA Tracking". OK, so now we'll start pumping ads about identity protection at them. Oh, and look! From there, they went to this blog about privacy - Oh, goodie! We own the site the blog runs on, so we can get *EVERYTHING* they say and know what they read! Hmmm... they're reading about privacy again - More identity protection scheme ads... Oh, and bonus! They commented on one of the blog posts after logging in with their facebook account. OK, so now we know the id cookie we set is on a machine likely owned - definitely at least used - by Mr. Bill Smith, with CC number XXXXXXXX, and we know he's worried about privacy, and... From there, how many more steps do you think it takes before they, (not the tinfoil hat brigade's "they", but "whoever might be interested") know everything but the length of Mr. Smith's dick? Hint: Not very bloody many. With what they've got from just 4-5 website visits, they've got all they need to do everything but tell you his hair color - and maybe even that. But since you're just doing your best to stir the pot, you'll respond with something that boils down to "You're another tinfoil hatter, aincha?" - the typical fallback position for someone who doesn't want to face the fact that reality isn't what they wish it was. -- Security provided by Mssrs Smith and/or Wesson.
