All you have to do is read the news announcements and keep an eye on the 
wiki. There is always plenty of notice about upcoming changes, and you 
can wait to apply them until you understand what they're changing.

In many ways Arch requires you to be more hands-on than some other 
distros, but in return you get the latest software. I found running Arch 
to be a lot of fun.
