flatfish.  Ha!  Now there's a nick I've not heard in ages.  ;)

Yeah, I'm jes an oldster who's tired of sloggin' thru a jillion
depenzes.  Slack is great for a lotta things, but multimedia is not
one of them.  Pat is rather gun shy when it comes to even hinting at
the impropriety of copyright infringement.  Fine.  His choice, his
distro.  Mine is to watch a dvd.  Yeah, I could download and install
80+ pkgs or dig thru the landslide of recommended depenze and
pick-choose the right one.  I can also find an easier way, which I
did.  As slack veterans also say, "ask how, get 8 diff correct
answers".

BTW, using slack does not automatically make one a guru.  I may know
more than the avg screwbu user, but I'm no linux expert.  Not by a
damn sight.  I can compile from source, but I've yet to compile a
single kernel.  I use slackware linux cuz it gives me full control
and it's actually pretty simple and straightforward, not cuz I wanna
aspire to Mr Knowitall.  

BTW, thnx for the defenze, Aragorn.  ;)
