Well, no...

Most people use only the simplest forms of mathematics, once they have 
left school.

But there are exceptions to this rule. Engineers for instance need math 
to construct - say- turbines.

All the other scientists need sufficient knowledge of mathematics, too.

And physicists need the most knowledge in this realm, since many aspects 
of physics are purely mathematical.

Proper English is something useful, too, especially if English is you 
first language and you have a job, that is more challenging than 
flipping burgers.

If you are native speaker of English, you should certainly have mercy 
with those, who aren't and would not insist in correcting  tiny errors.

Since if you are a native English speaker and try to correct someone 
from Poland (or Germany), those could 'correct' your Polish /German as 
well.
