That counts for nothing with miscompiler maintainers. They justify
their miscompilation by claiming that the miscompiled code has been
broken all along, and that the programmers get what they deserve. The
bug report is marked as INVALID. If your program is a particularly
important one, such as the Linux kernel, you get a flag for disabling
the miscompilation, but the default setting is to miscompile.

And the intent of memset() is spelled out in the C standard even more
clearly, but that has not stopped them.
