Your are certainly correct to have been wary regarding Adobe's Creative Cloud model. I was. However, if you take a closer look you will discover that for those of us who are using a Photoshop workflow and who have been on the upgrade treadmill for years, the CC Photography Program @ $9.99/month is a bargain. In my case. I got my first lesser versions of PS (PS LE) bundled with scanners & printers. My first full edition was PS7, then the leap to CS which was a full $599 not an upgrade. After that I paid $199 each for upgrades to CS2, CS3, CS5, & CS6, that brought my investment in Photoshop to about $2200. Then add Lightroom into the mix with LR Beta, LR @ $299 and an upgrade to LR2 for $99. Now I pay $9.99/month ($120/year) and I get the latest updated versions of Photoshop and Lightroom, plus 20GB of cloud storage and conlaborative & showcase web space with Behance. Then there is the integration with the mobile apps which has been an unanticipated bonus, particularly with Lightroom Mobile which I have on my iPad & iPhone. With my iPhone, I have one Lightroom collection folder set for "Auto Import" so all iPhone shots go to that folder and are automatically synced to my desktop Lightroom. I am more than satisfied paying the $9.99/month for what I get from Adobe. I have bought Pixelmator, and I have gone through trial & beta versions of many other photo editers. I have GIMP installed to fire up every 6 months or so to remind me why I don't use it. None of those other apps comes close to providing the functionality and ease of workflow that I get using Lightroom + Photoshop via the Creative Cloud for that mere $9.99/month. ...and I know there are those who live for the free & cheap, and there are those who might bee trying to make ends meet, but compared to what Adobe software & services cost 3 years ago, the various Creative Cloud applications are a bargain. -- Regards, Savageduck
