If you don't ping Adobe, the software disables itself and is rendered
useless. My point stands.

While I'm sure it's reasonable compared with Adobe's exorbitant upgrade
prices, it's definitely not reasonable compared with the upgrade prices
of other solutions from other competitors.

Nope, not if you don't ping Adobe regularly, as you have already
admitted. If you don't, the software ceases to work and becomes useless.

It's an issue for me and anyone who would rather not pay rent to use
software, and anyone who would rather their software continue to
function correctly without constantly pinging Adobe. If you can ignore
the ball and chain around your neck because it suits your own needs,
fine; but don't expect the rest of the world to offer their necks as
well. To each, their own.

Never said it was. What I did say is there are alternatives out there
that are cheaper and better for some of us.
