Aperture has reached its end of life, you would be buying a corpse. If all you want or need are the basics, the new Photos app from Apple might work for you when it is finally released. The better option is to go with Lightroom which gives you powerful library/catalog features, along with a very capable photo editor. It is available as a stand alone (disc or download) or as part of a Creative Cloud subscription which also gives you Photoshop for $9.99/month. <http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom.html> Then there is the very good Pixelmator. <http://www.pixelmator.com> -- Regards, Savageduck
