Anton Shepelev: Shtyrkov calculates the ether velocity using eqs. 7 and 8. Gary Harnagel: There is no velocity variable in either of those equations. Anton Shepelev: The orbital component of the ether wind velocity is contained in beta_orb, which is there in eq. 8. The galactic component is contained in beta_apx, on which depends the parameter p of eq. 8. The lead phase upsilon from eq. 8 is pre- sent in eq. 7, which is the model of the ether drift effect. Gary Harnagel: The problem with doing that has been explained by Roberts. The error bars are much larger than the supposed effect. Tom's treatise on Dayton Miller's experiment shows what happens when you have this situation. You have now jumped to another argument without com- pleting the one about Shtyrkov's ether drift model.
