Der Nutzen ist, dass beim Ausfall eines Laufwerks die Daten weiter
unverändert vorhanden sind.

Na ja - alten Datenträger aus- und neune Datenträger einbauen geht aber
schneller, als 1-2 TB Daten aus dem Backup auf einen neuen Datenträger
wiederherzustellen.

Ein Backup sichert üblicherweise nicht in Echtzeit, sondern nur in
bestimmten Zeitabständen.

Die Backupgeneration steht erst nach dem Backup zur Verfügung.
Änderungen seit dem letzten Backup sind weg, wenn eine der aktiv
genutzte Datenträger ausfällt. Genau dafür ist RAID hilfreich, um sowas
zu vermeiden.
