Yeah, have replaced a lot of those fans, both on CPUs and on video 
cards.  The CPU ones were "glued" on the CPU, just had to have the right 
technique, I used a small hair dryer, to get it off, then cleaned it, 
then applied more heat paste and then, ready to go.  The fans were a lot 
cheaper than buying a new video card.
Since I let my IBM machines go, except for the PS/2, I have not futzed 
around inside a case.  I got rid of all my cards and various crap when I 
moved from FL to TX(now I wish that I had some of that stuff back!).
Besides my two Thinkpad T400s running SL 6.6, I have three more old 
laptops, one an old PB running DOS/W3.11 that was my daughter's in 
college.
Another old hand-built AMD K2 machine going to run OS/2 Warp 4, and my 
late father's old Dell SX620 running XP SP3 that I am using with DOSBOX 
to run a crap load of old games!
The new iMac will start off with all the iTunes/iPhotos from the old G4, 
and then will go from there.
