Again, I'm not sure if it still works in newer MacOS versions, but try holding down the Command key while double-clicking a folder in the Finder and it will open in a new window leaving the original window also still open. (You may need to first turn off the Finder > Preferences > General option for opening folders in tabs). > And no window can be any smaller than the largest window you have on > the computer, or you have to scroll to see icons on the largest window. > What a waste of screen real estate. > > Crazy stuff IMO, just because something works better on an iPhone > doesn't mean it translates on a desktop. > > (If anybody knows of any extensions to give you more control over the > Finder in Ventura and other more modern OS versions I would appreciate > knowing.) Depends what you mean by "more control" TinkerTool / TinkerTool System and OnyX both let you change some of the 'hidden' Finder preferences without going through the Terminal. Tinker Tool: https://www.bresink.com/products.html OnyX: https://www.titanium-software.fr/en/onyx.html There are numerous other little apps and preference panes that give extra features to MacOS. >> It's getting even worse with all the useless "AI" nonsense being >> shovelled in now too. :-( > > Yeah I notice they're plugging the AI stuff pretty heavily if you go to > www.apple.com/imac/
