Ventura won't support the old 32-bit Intel software so I had to make some updates and find some alternatives for a few favorite apps. >> I'll have to say I enjoy working on the 2014 iMac running Mojave better >> than working in Ventura. Why does Apple keep making their desktop GUI's >> weirder as time goes on? The iPhone revolution I guess. > > Because Apple keeps adding more and more gimmickry, rather than fixing > the actual existing issues. The biggest PITB about Ventura is you have to option-click to get a pop-up for a folder to open in a new window. That has to be inspired by cell phone swiping. And no window can be any smaller than the largest window you have on the computer, or you have to scroll to see icons on the largest window. What a waste of screen real estate. Crazy stuff IMO, just because something works better on an iPhone doesn't mean it translates on a desktop. (If anybody knows of any extensions to give you more control over the Finder in Ventura and other more modern OS versions I would appreciate knowing.) > It's getting even worse with all the useless "AI" nonsense being > shovelled in now too. :-( Yeah I notice they're plugging the AI stuff pretty heavily if you go to www.apple.com/imac/
