According to recent news, a homicide caused by hazing in the Philippines was prosecuted as a murder, not manslaughter. What could the defendant say in the case 'I was strong and the victim was a weak and defenseless newbie'? That's the very definition of criminality, sadists should have no hope for sympathy.

Well, I actually began with Schaeffer cartridge pens, and then found a couple lever-bladder pens tucked away in drawers. When I was in college, there was a fad for Rapidiographs. By the time I was in 3rd grade and beginning to use pens, PaperMate click pens were readily available (and still cheap), and there were PaperMate stick pens, but Lindy stick pens were much more common. I am not sure we did the trick with refilling the cartridges but believe I did.
