Well, I tried to be of help and ended my post writing something like 
"this is a NG where people is a bit experienced, maybe it's not the 
right place for such elementary questions" but I have been lashed for 
that, and I have been told that nowhere in the group's policy is stated 
that only experts can participate.. etc.

Yes, but what about the very same panel calling himself simply 
"Psychology Discussions", then someone stumbles in, asks some ridiculous 
questions and people begins to make a fool of him, asking candidly 
things like "please, to be clearer, are you referring to the Wosgan 
theory of stereotypes or the commonly accepted paradigm of the intrinsic 
neuronal redundance?" [1]

Maybe simply ignoring them seems too easy? People can learn from words, 
and from silence too.

Well, I know, as a long-time lurker, your attitude of courtesy and 
support when you materialize in the NG. It is somewhat surprising to me 
that you devote one of your unfortunately rare apparitions to play the 
devil's advocate! :-)

No questions on it. Nevertheless, what about people that does not limit 
to ignore irrelevant questions, but feels obligate to torture the 
newcomer/amateur/unexperienced/ignorant/confused?
We have a word for it in Italy [2], and it is generally considered bad 
habit...
