The first two, Forth certainly has.  Whether one *likes* the way Forth
does its thing is another matter.

Forth is certainly "lower level".  That, and its syntax, is hated by many
(even some "forthers").  Dislike of Forth is to expected and, yes, the
language may well vanish.  That's ok.  Nothing lasts forever.  Even C.

OTOH, there will be users who don't program in anything but Forth.  I'm
not surprised.  Forth's niche is controller apps and IIRC it consistently
ranked top in 'real time' programming contests.

I don't use C, Pascal etc and consequently find 'pointers' impossible to
understand.  Should I ignore these languages?  Should one ignore assembler
because it's allegedly "hard"?

Does promoting a language (or for that matter, condemning one) make any
difference?  I don't think it does.  What matters is whether one uses what
one has learned.  I've seen folks "talking Forth" for what must be 20 years,
and yet never seen a scrap of code from them.  The sin isn't in Forth but
doing nothing with it :)
