I cite only documents which I have read/watched and find are in
concurrence with my line of reasoning.
Next you'll be citing War & Peace when discussing the war in Ukraine.
BTW, if you want to understand the war in Ukraine, I recommend this book.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Accidental-Superpower-Generation-American-Preeminence/dp/1455583685/
It's a hard read, a veritable slog, geopolitics is like that, but it
provides the only reasonable explanation for the Ukraine Conflict and
more. In fact the author predicted in 2014 that Russia would invade
Ukraine by 2022 at the very latest. History proved him correct and he
has produced a followup book as a recap of past events discussed in the
first book.

Well, it's devolved into that but it is way more complex than that. As I
noted, the book explains it very well.

Indeed they did. But, in a quick revision as a result, the prediction
was made that those oblasts weren't the main game - every single oblast
in Ukraine was the aim and 2022 was the last opportunity to *finish the
job*. One huge issue was *demogrphics* and, after 2022, it would have
become increasingly difficult for Russia to muster up a sufficiently
large army. Putin fully expected all resistance in Ukraine to collapse
but, as history shows, the Ukrainians had suffered under Russian control
before and weren't about to wear another dose. But, even if the aims of
2022 were achieved, it wouldn't have ended there. The clue is in what
Russia has been doing since the fall of the Soviet Union. As I said,
Peter Zeihan's book makes everything as clear as crystal. Worth reading!

Although it certainly hasn't demonstrated the USA turning back to pre-WWII isolationism, which was apparantly one of his other (many) predictions. They're pouring record amounts into propping up that nutcase in Ukraine, Israel at the same time, and still had energy to do some late meddling in Syria. Compared with the Saudi oil crisis in the 70s, increased American energy independence seems to have made the USA more capable of meddling in distant foreign countries than before, and clearly no less willing so far. -- __ __ #_ < |\| |< _#

Yes, I know, I have both the original and the updated versions as well
as his three other books. My future reading list is replete with those
plus similar geopolitics titles from Tim Marshall, Jared Diamond and

But we did keep our coal power plants until we had viable power sources DID WE?? I don't recall any wide spread long term power outages!!
