Was the shadow cast by a cat or the abstract Idea (Form) of a cat?  His 
Theory of Forms led to the confusion where it is called both Platonic 
realism and Platonic idealism. 

Step out of the cave and you may be able to perceive the Form of a cat, an 
idea that exists outside of time and space and that's the true reality. 
Sorry, I stick with the furry object that meows when it's hungry.
