Not really. I regard physics as a hobby, but not as a religion. Religion is based on believe, while science is based on not believing anything. It is actually essential, to question everything, even what seems to be most obvious. If you would not do that, or worse forbade scrutiny, you end up with a scientific mess. In science we also have cooperation around the globe, between believers of different religions and of different nations.
