I know exactly what it is because I have gone through the process 
several times, for several people. Go to the covered CA web site, type 
in the numbers and then you'll also see. It's almost digital. For 
example, for a couple in their 60's a bronze plan is between $1300 and 
$1400 per months. Actual cost if under 400% FPL: $2/mo. Yes, all of TWO 
bucks. Get above 400% FPL and you pay full cost, subsidy drops to zero.
